Cette journée de Jeudi a donc très mal commencé avec l’annonce de la mort de Jean claude Brialy;

Il était l’un des plus grands comédiens français, par son dandysme, son bel esprit, sa sympathie.

Des gars, comme ça, nous n’en faisons plus, malheureusement. Les vérolards se font rares de nos jours…

Une institution ! Que dirais-je une légende vivante du 7ème art ! Michael Caine est tout simplement le meilleur acteur old school du monde ! En près de 50 ans de carrière, il n’a jamais atteint le statut de superstar ; mais par son jeu d’acteur à l’anglaise et le nombre de films incontournables auquel il a participé à travers les décennies, il mérite toute mon admiration. A 74 ans passés , il est des plus actifs avec pas moins de 4 films à sortir en 2007. Chapeau !!

IRON MAIDEN : Run to the hills (1982)

Conscient de devoir me renouveler (musicalement) histoire de ne pas finir vieux con, je me suis mis en quête d’un nouveau courant musical qui loin de m’indifférer ne m’intéressait guère : le hard rock ! Sur le blog naviguent quelques disques de hard comme ceux d’ac/dc ou de Def Leppard mais bon, ça restait marginal et peut-être pas assez honorant par rapport à leur véritable impact musical. Il fallait rendre justice à ce style qui reste encore très populaire à travers les âges (ah ! les disques d’aujourd’hui, quelles merveilles !! LOL). A force de recherche, d’écoute de disques, de rencontre avec des métalleux, de relectures incessantes des bio des plus grands groupes, de discussion entre potes sur le sujet, je décidais de franchir le pas, à savoir écouter ce style à fond ! Il y a exactement tout ce que je recherchais depuis longtemps: de l’énergie, de la sincérité, de l’instinct (ça ne calcule pas !), de l’insouciance (fuck demain !) et des mélodies (ah les filles !). Un des morceaux qui m’a le plus marqué dans cette nouvelle « aventure » est sans conteste « Run to the hill » d’Iron Maiden ! Quel morceau, quel groupe ! Premier simple de l’album Number of the beast, il reste jusqu’à ce jour leur plus grand succès en vente de 45 tours. Par sa vitesse d’exécution (on dirait des chevaux en plein galop !), sa sauvagerie (ils ne sont pas là pour rire !), et tous les instruments plus lourds les uns que les autres (la batterie en tête), Run to the hills est une chanson sacrément orchestrée et efficace. Le tout nouveau chanteur du groupe Bruce Dickinson y met particulièrement du sien en hurlant très haut dans les aigues avec un punch et coté diabolique explicite mais bon enfant. Evoquant la colonisation en prenant le partie des “native” dans le premier couplet et ceux des conquidastors dans le deuxième , Iron maiden y dresse un propos crû et violent qui sera sa marque de fabrique tout au long de sa carrière. Ne cherchez rien de philosophique là-dedans : ce n’est que du premier degré ! En évitant la fioriture, les questions existentielles et en jouant la carte de la spontanéité, les chansons de hard comme Run to hills vous redonnent de l’acné et d’envoyer foutre le conformisme. Rien de tel que d’écouter du hard pour rester jeune !!

DEF LEPPARD : No matter what

Pour son dernier album “Yeah !”, ce fameux groupe de hard rock britannique a décidé de rendre l’appareil à son influence majeure : le Glam rock ! On y trouve que des classiques de Glam revisités, dont ce génial “No matter what” des badfinger.

D’un groupe qu’on attendait pas grand chose, j’ai été agréablement bluffé. Ces quarantenaires assurent !!
