Stan Ridgway-Camouflage (1985)
I was a PFC on a searchpatrol, hunting Charlie down.
It was in the jungle wars of ’65.
My weapon jammed and I got stuck way out and all alone
and I could hear the enemy moving in close outside.
Just then I heard a twig snap, and I grabbed my empty gun
and I dug in scared while I counted down my fate.
And then a big marine, a giant with a pair of friendly eyes
appeared there at my shoulder and said: « Wait »
When he came in close beside me, he said: « Don’t worry son, I’m here..
if Charlie wants to tangle, now he’ll have two to dodge.
I said: « Well, thanks a lot ». I told him my name and asked him his.
And he said « The boys just call me Camouflage »

I was awfully glad to see this big marine.
Well I was gonna ask him where he came from,
when we heard the bullets fly,
coming through the brush and all around our ears.
It was then I saw this big marine, a lotta fire in his eyes.
And it was strange, but suddenly I forgot my fears.
Well we fought all night, side by side, we took our battlestands.
And I wondered how the bullets missed this man.
Cus they seemed to go right through him, just as if he wasn’t there
and the morning we both took a chance and ran.
And it was near the riverbank when the ambush came on top of us
and I thought it was the end, we were had.
Then a bullet with my name on it came buzzing through a bush
and that big marine, he just swat it, with his hand.
Just like it was a fly.

This was an awfully strange marine.
And I knew there was something weird about him,
cus when I turned around he was pulling a big palmtree
right up out of the ground and swatting those Charlie’s with it,
from here to Kingdom come.
When he led me out the danger, I saw my camp and waved goodbye,
he just winked at me from the jungle and then was gone.
And when I got back to my H.Q. I told them about my night,
and the battle I’d spent with a big marine named Camouflage.
When I said his name, a soldier gulped, and a medic took my arm
and led me to a green tent on the right.
He said: « You may be telling true boy, but this here is Camouflage.
And he’s been right here since he passed away last night.
In fact he’s been here all week long.
But before he went he said: « Semper Fi », and said his only wish,
was to save a young marine caught in a mirage.
So here, take his dogtag, son. I know he’d want you to have it now »
And we both said a prayer for a big marine named Camouflage.

So next time you’re in a junglefight, and you feel a presence near
or hear a voice that in your mind will lie,
just be thankful that you’re not alone and you’ve got some company,

L’America : tout est parti de là
Que voyez vous ? une épave ? Certes ce bateau ne naviguera plus jamais mais il a eu une carrière digne d’une rock star ! Ce paquebot s’apppelle L’American Star mais a changé de nombreuses de noms. Il était plus connu sous le nom d’America puis d’Australis. Pourquoi cette photo sur ce blog ? Et bien, parceque je dois tout à ce bateau. Grâce à lui, j’ai pris goût à l’histoire, à son sens. Et surtout aux personnages, aux choses qui la traversent. Ils ont plus ou moins marqué leur époque et laissent derrière eux des souvenirs, des joies, des tristesses, des nostalgies, des sentiments. Ce bateau a une âme, une raison d’être. Sans lui, je ne serais sûrement pas le même…

Je commence à adorer cette série !! Et puis cette bande annonce a une musique géniale
pour les petits curieux, il s’agit d’un groupe inconnu au bataillon, Better than Ezra.
Chelsea : Cech absent un an ? :(
Opéré d’une fracture du crane après avoir reçu un violent coup de genou samedi en Championnat d’Angleterre, le gardien tchèque de Chelsea Peter Cech pourrait être absent des terrains pendant un an selon le père du joueur cité mardi par le Times .
« Mon fils ne pourra pas jouer au football pendant un an. D’abord, je n’ai pas réalisé à quel point c’était grave. Quand j’ai entendu le diaggnostic, mes genoux ont tremblé. Je ne pouvais pas en croire mes oreilles » témoigne Vaclav Cech. Dans un communiqué diffusé lundi soir, Chelsea a indiqué que l’état de son gardien s’améliorait et qu’il était désormais « pleinement conscient ».
Petr Cech en a pour 6 mois…
Les médecins en neurochirurgie d’Oxford où le gardien de Chelsea, Petr Cech, a subi samedi une opération d’une fracture du crâne ne sont pas très encourageants sur le retour du portier international tchèque. Le choc subi lors du match de championnat à Reading (1-0) sur un coup de genou de Stephen Hunt, devrait le tenir éloigné des terrains «pendant au moins six mois» a estimé le neurochirurgien Peter Hamlyn, cité dans le Daily Telegraph et qui précise : « Si Petr Cech revient trop vite après sa blessure à la tête, le résultat pourrait être fatal. Il risque ce que nous appelons un « syndrome de deuxième choc » ».

Sacré « Pet »
De mon voyage à Dublin ( du mercredi au dimanche), LE moment le plus mythique restera ma rencontre avec Petr Cech ! Mais comment nous sommes nous rencontrés ?!
Et bien, L’équipe nationale tchèque avait joué un match dans la soirée contre l’irlande comptant pour la qualification pour l’euro 2008. Certains de ces membres sont sortis en ville aprés le match. Et devinez quoi ? Ils sont venus dans le bar où je sirotais des bières avec des potes !!
Koller,Rosicky,Barros, Cech ( entre autres) étaient hyper faciles; Très simples et pas trop sophistiqués ( je vois mal des gars de l’équipe de france aller dans un bar pas selec du tout). Le joueur que j’apprécie le plus est de loin le gardien de but Petr Cech qui officie à Chelsea. hyper agile pour un homme de sa taille, il a un sens du placement qui fait de lui l’un des meilleurs gardiens du monde. Il a notamment joué en France, à Rennes qui lui a permis de monter en grade après qu’il ait gagné l’euro 2002 des espoirs contre…la france !! Il y a aussi appris le français qu »il parle parfaitement.
Pour ceux qui me connaissent, je suis de temps en temps une tête brûlée qui n’a peur de rien. et bien, j’ai été aborder Petr Cech !! Mais je suis balèze car je l’appelle Pet ! j’ai oublié le r en route mais qu’importe ! Pendant deux minutes, on a parlé de deux/trois trucs : 1) Le stade rennais pour savoir s’il le suivait vu que c’est son ancien club. 2) la pub Samsung super drôle où il joue un tour à Joe Cole. Il m’avait répondu avec le sourire « C’EST RIGOLO AU MOINS » ( la phrase culte pour un moment). j’adore sa réponse, si humaine et si vérolarde ! 3) j’ai fini par lui parler de la bourde de Robinson, le gardien anglais lors du match angleterre – croatie. En plaisantant, je lui ai dit que Morinho ne voudrait qu’il fasse pareil ! ça ne passe pas ! Il m’avait répondu : ça, c’est sûr !
Superbe moment quand meme ! Parler comme ça à une star est un instant rare ! Et lui parler comme ça, c’est encore plus rare !! Je n’oublierai jamais ça ! Malheureusement Petr a eu une fracture du crane le match d’après…. j’espère qu’il reviendra vite car il est vraiment bon !!
